Ducati announce 2014 World Superbike riders
Welsh rider, Chaz Davies, and the Italian, Davide Giugliano, are both now officially confirmed to compete for the Italian manufacturer during the 2014 and 2015 World Superbike seasons. This is an important decision for Ducati, determined to bounce back after a year of disappointing results for the 1199 Panigale, which failed to deliver the results expected in World Superbike despite its considerable success in many national championships and the highly-competitive FIM Superstock Cup.

899 Panigale In Store
We are pleased to announce that the 899 Panigale arrived in our stores today (Wednesday 23rd October). Test rides are available from Friday 25th - book your slot now!
The 899 is very much a Panigale, complete with radically over-square Superquadro V-twin layout, in this case of 898cc capacity. It also uses a Panigale-type aluminium monocoque frame, which doubles as the airbox. And, like the 1199, it incorporates advanced electronics, including three riding modes, plus adjustable traction control and ABS brake systems.
899 Panigale offers the style and most of the high technology and performance of the 1199 for £12,495 and it's arguably the best, most complete sports bike yet from Ducati.

Carl Fogarty takes to the track for 899 Panigale debut
World Superbike star and Ducati ambassador Carl Fogarty led the first ever UK laps for Ducati’s brand new ‘supermid’ 899 Panigale. The bike, which was unveiled for the first time just two weeks ago in Imola, took to the iconic Brands Hatch GP circuit for it’s first demonstration on British soil, with Fogarty leading round the 2013 Ducati TriOptions 848 Challenge champion Marty Nutt and runner up Jonathan Railton.
Adding to the drama of the BSB Showdown finale, the trio of new machines was chased around the track by a police-liveried 1199 Panigale. Despite its extra power, there was nothing the bigger bike could do to catch the agile 899 on the damp circuit, and several riders have already confirmed they will make the step up to 899 machinery for the Ducati TriOptions Cup in 2014.

Ducati present “Senna” version of 1199 Panigale S exclusively in Brazil from June 2014
Marking Ducati’s participation at the Two Wheels Motorcycle Show in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Italian manufacturer presented a surprise Senna version of their 1199 Panigale S model.
Realised exclusively for the Brazilian market, a limited edition series of just 161 motorcycles are to be produced, signifying the number of F1 Grand Prix raced by the Brazilian star. The special livery colour was chosen by Ayrton Senna himself during his visit to the Ducati factory only a few weeks before his last race in Imola in 1994, and later used to produce a first series of 300 motorcycles designed to honour star in 1995.
The first Ducati tribute to Senna was a 916SP finished in grey with red wheels, the “916 Senna I”, of which only 300 were produced, with two more versions, the “916 Senna II” and “916 Senna III” built in 1997 and 1998. All three versions of the Ducati 916 Senna model were limited editions and remain highly sought-after by collectors world-wide.

The sun shines on Ducati at Snetterton
Ducati enjoyed its strongest weekend’s racing for some time at Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk (5-7 July). Tristan Palmer had yet another fantastic race in the National Superstock 1000 class for Rapido Sport Racing, while the team’s rider in the main British Superbike class Matteo Baiocco scored the a best ever result by breaking into the top ten.
Matteo Baiocco said:
“I’m happy for the position because we brought some good points home. We are much closer to the factory riders than at the other races so this weekend had been good. We stopped the improvements with the bike after qualifying. We might have been able to do some more with the setting but we were scoring our best results so it wasn’t worth risking it. The races felt long – I forgot about the sun, the last time I was here the track temperature was two degrees so it was very different. In the end, to get this result without coming to test here, which a lot of the other teams did, looks good for the rest of the races.”

Ducati Multistrada 1200 takes fourth successive Pikes Peak victory
The Ducati Multistrada has taken victory in the famous Pikes Peak “Race to the Clouds” event in Colorado for the fourth year in succession with a spectacular win this time for French privateer racer, Bruno Langlois.
Langlois, whose career history includes titles from the Championnat France de Côte in 1985 and Champion de France Promosport 750 in 1990, continues to compete at home in France, but after whetting his appetite with a third place at Pikes Peak last year aboard a Ducati Streetfighter, vowed to return for the victory.
With a helping hand from Ducati West Europe and his local Ducati Dealer, Moto Prestige, Langlois secured the use of a standard 2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak – built and named to celebrate the Italian manufacturer’s first win on the mountain - and took the 1205 category win.

Ducati adopts MASTER security system
All new Ducati machines registered from April 1 onwards will now come with the added security of a MASTER Security System.
Ducati has joined an industry initiative developed by the Motorcycle Industry Association in adopting the MASTER Security system. The system is fitted free of charge during pre-delivery inspection at authorised Ducati dealerships and involves a variety of engine, chassis and bodywork parts marked using a ‘stealth’ UV security etching, glass transponders, ultra violet fluid, Datadots® as well as a discreet warning label to deter would-be thieves.
It is the first and only official national scheme approved by the police authorities, the Home Office and powered by security market leaders, Datatag ID Ltd, and it is hoped it will go some way to reducing the 26,000 motorcycles stolen each year in the UK. These are often stripped and rebuilt around genuine frames and as such recovery rates are low, with the Police unable to prove ownership beyond doubt. With Ducati and other manufacturers united behind one scheme, the industry has a greater opportunity in combating this problem.

Take a Demo Ride like no other….
Ducati National Test Ride Campaign – 14 April – 31 May 2012
From 14 April until 31 May anybody taking a demo ride at any of the official Ducati dealers across the UK will be entered into a draw to win the chance to ride a Ducati at a Ducati track day at Donington Park.*
This Nationwide campaign will be available at all 32 dealers who will have a selected range of bikes from across the Ducati range including the incredible new 1199 Panigale.
Although the 1199 Panigale is the pinnacle of Sportsbike riding, there is more to the Ducati range than just Superbikes. The Ducati range has something for everyone whether it is the urban chic, style and performance of the iconic Monsters or the performance cruiser that is the Diavel, the 2011 MCN bike of the year.
For those who have adventure and touring in mind, the Multistrada combines both these elements whilst incorporating legendary Ducati engine performance and handling. New for this year is the Streetfighter 848 whose smaller engine capacity and improved ergonomics make this an incredibly exciting yet useable naked bike. Other naked bikes in the range include the Hyermotard which still lives up to its hype as a thrill seekers machine.
Although the 1199 Panigale is the flagship Superbike of the Ducati range, the 848 Evo continues to seduce with its sublime 140hp engine and chassis to match. The 848 Evo now also comes in a Corse Edition which includes Traction Control, Quick Shifter and a stunning Corse livery.
If the lure of testing the best that Bologna has to offer is not enough, then there is the added incentive of winning a chance to ride a Ducati around one of the World’s best circuits. The historic Donington Park, scene of Ducati’s first ever World Superbike race win, will be hosting a Ducati track day on 31 July 2012 and the lucky winner will be able to ride a Ducati for the day.

Ducati 1199 Panigale “Superquadro” power house revealed
With just a matter of weeks to go until the final unveiling of Ducati’s brand new 1199 Panigale at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan (10-13 November), the Italian manufacturer now reveals the secrets behind the awesome power of its 2012 Superbike.
Ducati’s latest engine, the Superquadro, goes beyond the barriers of engineering to enable the introduction of a futuristic Superbike today. Its no-compromise approach to design, combined with Ducati’s Italian innovation has now set the most extreme benchmark ever and stands as the latest milestone in Ducati’s long and iconic history of Superbike engines.
The innovative Superquadro engine, so called because of its massively over-square bore and stroke ratio, has increased power to an absolute production twin-cylinder milestone of 195hp and torque to 98.1 lb-ft (13.5kgm) with user-friendly Riding Modes that deliver that power appropriate to the rider’s style and environment. Its construction has enabled a radical reduction in overall vehicle weight and, further identifying Ducati’s constant pursuit of performance perfection, major services have been extended to 24,000km (15,000 miles).
Only Fabio Taglioni’s masterpiece 90° L-twin configuration and Desmodromic valve control have been retained from previous engines. Everything else is new.

Diavel Scoops MCN's Machine of the Year and Cruiser of the Year Awards 2011
The Ducati Diavel has been named as MCN’s Machine of the Year 2011 at a glittering awards ceremony attended by the heads of the Motorcycle Industry and the MCN team.
The Diavel took the prestigious award despite stiff competition from other manufacturers, but it was its ‘rule-changing’ and ability to ‘redefine the cruiser class’ that impressed the MCN judges.
Motorcycle News Editor and head of the awards judging panel was ‘blown-away’ by the Diavel and commented: “There was no hesitation here because I have never known a bike exceed expectations by such as huge margin. It has massive presence as a cruiser and should clearly appeal in an entirely new market for Ducati, yet the performance and the feel of the bike is fabulous. It’s easy to forget it also has a world-leading electronics package which otherwise would have been five years away in this sector.”
The Diavel has not only exceeded MCN’s expectations but also Ducati UK’s with sales surpassing initial forecasts and continuing to do so.
Tim Maccabee, Managing Director of Ducati UK collected the award and spoke of his delight at receiving the award: “Receiving this award for the Diavel endorses our experience in the market, both in the UK and around the world. When people test ride a Diavel they invariably want one and demand and has been high since the launch.”
Ducati has continued to innovate and build on the relationship with AMG by recently introducing the Diavel AMG Special Edition, the flagship model for the Diavel family.

Ducati announces 2012 Superbike name as “Ducati 1199 Panigale”
Having attracted massive, world-wide interest during the machine’s many test phases, the exciting new model is also now officially named in an emotional video released on the Italian manufacturer’s website, Ducati.com, and Ducati Motor Holding’s official Youtube channel. The wait to discover the incredible performance, innovative design and ground-breaking technologies of the new 1199 Panigale will continue for just a few more weeks.
Pronounced “Pan-ee-gah-lee”, the new model breaks with Ducati’s Superbike tradition by adding a name to its 1199cc engine capacity (referred to as eleven-nine-nine), making a significant and warm association to its historic roots in the Borgo Panigale area of Bologna. In an Italian territory known as “Motor Valley” and where high performance and racing runs through the veins of its passionate people, Ducati now underline their pride in being world ambassadors for the “Made in Italy” title by immortalizing their home town in the name of the new Superbike.
Developed as a true sport bike with competition in its DNA, the Ducati 1199 Panigale will first see racing action in the 2012 FIM Superstock Championship and, in accordance with the factory’s development program, make its debut in World Superbike in 2013.
The two-stage introduction enables Ducati additional development for the Superbike version of the 1199 Panigale, appropriate to the more open regulations of the World Superbike category, and in addition help control costs for World Superbike teams who can continue to compete with a 2012 version of the 1198 with technical support from Ducati Engineers.

Riders of Cardiff Scoop New Dealer of the Year Award
Ducati dealers from all over the UK gathered for the annual Ducati dealer meeting during the recent London Motorcycle Show at Excel.
The dealers were presented with an overview of 2009 and the plans and strategies for 2010 which should prove to be exciting times for the Ducati dealer network with the launch of the eagerly awaited Multistrada and other innovative bikes such as the Monster ABS models.
The dealer meeting closed with the customary dealer awards for those who had excelled in 2009. Commenting on the awards, Tim Maccabee, Managing Director of Ducati UK said “the annual dealer awards are an opportunity for us to recognise the efforts of our best dealers in the previous year, those who have gone over and above the call of duty in meeting the needs of customers and representing the brand. Choosing the winners is always a tough call because, as you can imagine, every Ducati dealer is enthusiastic in representing the brand and we believe they all deliver high standards”.
New Dealer of the year 2009 was awarded to Mr Phil Jessop owner of Riders of Cardiff and was obviously jubilant to receive this award on behalf of his fantastic team in Wales!

The new 2010 Multistrada 1200
Ducati UK will be showcasing two of the hottest new models at this year's NEC motorcycle show.
The new and eagerly awaited Multistrada 1200 along with the acclaimed Hypermotard 796 will be making their UK debuts at the International Motorcycle Show in Birmingham from the 27th November to the 6th December.
Ducati will have just two new models on display rather than their full range with a smaller scale stand than in previous years. However despite the economic climate that has resulted in other manufacturers taking the decision not to attend this year's show at all, Ducati felt it was vital to not only support the UK's premier motorcycle show but also not to deny the British public the opportunity to see one the most important and eagerly awaited bikes of 2010.
The Multistrada 1200 unveiled recently at the Milan show stunned visitors with its innovative looks and class leading technology. The Multistrada is a bike with the emphasis on ‘multi' and could be described as four-bikes-in-one as its characteristics can be changed by the touch of a button to different riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. Power and torque delivery, suspension settings and traction control can be changed even while riding. The Multistrada incorporates many innovations including ride–by-wire, Ducati traction control (DTC), Ducati electronic suspension (DES), a new Testestretta 11° 150hp producing 87.5lb ft of torque and a host of other cutting edge specifications.
Weighing in at 189kg the Multistrada is lighter than any other road enduro, touring or sport touring bike currently available and coupled with class leading technology, Ducati has once again set the benchmark and is certain to be the biggest draw at the show.
The Hypermotard 796 joins the Multistrada at the NEC and has already been lauded after its recent press launch in Bologna where it impressed with its agility and adeptness and will no doubt be a draw to those looking for a versatile urban companion. The 796 is as aggressively striking as the 1100, but with a lower seat height, flexible 81hp engine and an overall weight of 167kg, the new 796 fuses aggression with mild manners, a perfect combination for the city or the open road.

Colour changing Ducati's
Ducati now offer dozens of different colour panels for their ever-popular Monsters. The idea is fancy a change, buy a new set of panels, fit them in just 15 minutes and bingo – a new bike (well almost but you will probably fool the neighbours!)
Ducati sent a set to Motorcycle News Senior Editor John Westlake – you can watch the footage yourself below click here.
